Britt Tisdale is a licensed psychotherapist (LMHC) who writes about women breaking free. She has an MFA in fiction from Seattle Pacific University. Her work has appeared in or been awarded by Salon, Pleiades, storySouth, The VIDA Review, Bellingham Review, Sonora Review, and Ruminate. Her autofictional short story “The Pastor’s Ex” recently published at The Rumpus, selected by Roxane Gay. Britt has received recognition from Tin House Summer Workshop, Northern California Writers’ Retreat, Lighthouse Writers Workshop, and the Royal Palm Literary Award. She is a fellow of Hambidge Center, Wedgwood Circle, and Buinho Creative Hub.
Since 2008, Britt has counseled girls and women in her private practice Alive Studios. A lifelong student of the creative process, she also loves sharing proven wellness practices with artists and writers. She has taught for Rollins College, Abroad Writers Conference, and Poets & Writers Magazine.
Britt lives with her second husband Bill in New York City and small-town, coastal Florida, where she wishes they enjoyed taking long walks on the beach. Together they have a blended family of five adult children.
